Bootcamp FAQ

Why should I choose this over other guitar courses?

This isn’t about cramming in riffs or becoming “the complete guitarist.” It’s about building a solid daily practice habit — one that’s tailored to you.

You’ll get structure, accountability, and a focus on the areas you actually care about improving. It asks for a realistic daily commitment (30 minutes) and helps you test whether you can turn structured guitar practice into a true habit.

Why not just get a guitar teacher?

If you can find a great teacher, go for it — they’re worth their weight in gold. But being a good guitarist doesn’t automatically mean someone can teach well.

This bootcamp offers something most teachers can’t: daily accountability. You’ll be nudged, checked in on, and supported every day — not just once a week. That’s where the real shift happens.

Why are the video calls recorded? Do I have to be on YouTube?

Recording sessions helps you track your progress over time. You don’t have to appear on YouTube if that’s not your thing. Your voice and face can stay off-screen — the goal is to capture your journey, not just create content. But sharing progress with others can be motivating (for you and for them).

What if I’m travelling or miss a day?

Life happens. If you’re away from your guitar, you’ll still get tasks: fretboard notes, triads, intervals, or ear training — all possible without a guitar. The aim is to keep the habit going daily, planning for those moments is part of building a lasting habit.

Why should I trust you?

Honestly, that’s up to you. I’m not pretending this is a tried-and-tested system — it’s in development, and I’m documenting it as I go. But I’ve put my own music, story, and philosophy out there so you can decide if it resonates. I’m not hiding behind marketing speak. This is about showing the process in real time.

Why aren’t you a traditional guitar teacher?

Because teaching reluctant students sucked the joy out of playing. I love playing guitar — and I want to help people fall in love with daily practice, not just show them scales once a week. This approach puts the focus on building that internal drive to play.

How will I know if I’ve got a guitar habit?

You’ll feel it. You’ll look forward to playing. You’ll feel off if you miss a day. You’ll wake up pleased it’s a new day — because it means more guitar. It’s hard to explain until it clicks. But once it does, you’ll get it.

What if I still don’t have the habit after 66 days?

I want to know why — genuinely. What worked? What didn’t? This bootcamp won’t be for everyone, but your experience can help refine it and maybe help someone else who’s in the same boat.

I just want to play, not do theory. Is this for me?

I get it — I fought theory for years. It felt abstract and frustrating. But I kept coming back to it, because I knew it would help. And it does — it just takes time to sink in. If you’re open to learning a bit, bit by bit, it will start making sense and improve your playing.

This course meets you where you are — but nudges you forward.

How does the daily accountability work?

We’ll use a messenger platform you actually check — not email. Text, WhatsApp, Signal — whatever works best for you. We'll agree on it in the first call. You’ll get regular nudges and prompts to keep the practice momentum going.

I want to learn a specific song/solo/riff — will this help?

Yes. We'll build a routine around your goals, break down tricky phrases, and loop them into your daily practice. You’ll also do general exercises to improve timing, dexterity, and confidence — all of which feed into learning that song faster and better.

I like changing exercises to stay fresh — is this too rigid?

Not at all. Changing exercises is important — but so is setting goals for how well you’re playing them. We’ll track speed, accuracy, tone, and flow. Once you've nailed something, we move on. The habit is daily, but the content evolves.
